Certificates of Occupancy Issued within 60 Days

Community Development>Certificates of Occupancy Issued within 60 Days

Highlights

The County issues Certificates of Occupancy to signify that structures have passed building code and zoning regulations and are considered safe for use by occupants.  In the first quarter of 2016, 99% of Certificates of Occupancy were issued within 60 days. While the County can perform this valuable inspection within one business day, many people forget to request it once the electricity is turned on. To help, the County checks to verify buildings can be issued a C.O. no more than 60 days after passing the electrical inspection. This data refers to the percentage of those structures issued a certificate of occupancy within 60 days of final electrical inspection, helping assure buildings are not being occupied without a certificate of occupancy.
